Plum and Almond Love Heart Pikelets with Honey Cinnamon Yogurt

Serves 4


  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 250ml Australian milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup Australian Greek style yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • butter, for frying
  • 1 x 425g can plum halves, drained and halved
  • toasted slivered almonds, for serving

  1. 1. Place flour, sugar and baking powder in a bowl. Combine milk and egg, slowly whisk into flour mixture until smooth. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  2. 2. Combine yogurt with honey and cinnamon, set aside.
  3. 3. Melt butter in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Using a spoon draw love heart shapes with the mixture in the pan. Cook for 2 minutes each side or until the pikelets are fluffy and golden.
  4. 4. To serve, top a stack of pikelets with plums, honey cinnamon yogurt and sprinkle with almonds.

Tips / Handy Hints

Tip: • Substitute cinnamon with ½ teaspoon vanilla if desired • Substitute plums with canned apricots or fresh seasonal fruits if desired
