  1. 1. Break bread into small pieces and soak in milk for 10-15 minutes.
  2. 2. Using hands with clean gloves on, combine bread mixture, meat, mustard, tomato sauce and vegetables. Divide mixture into 10 and shape to form a patty.
  3. 3. Place patties on a baking paper lined tray and bake at 200oC oven for 15 -20 minutes or until cooked and brown. Top each burger with a slice of cheese and return to oven or pie warmer for 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese.
  4. 4. Lift each burger onto a split roll, topped with tomato, lettuce and a little sauce. Serve immediately.

Tips / Handy Hints

Add beetroot, cooked onion, relish or pineapple slices to these simple burgers for something different. Swiss-style cheese is naturally lower in fat than regular cheddar cheese and adds extra flavour to these burgers. Mince meat should always be used on the day it is purchased, so cook burger mixture on the day it is made.
