Middle Eastern Meatballs with Cucumber Dip

Serves 6


  • 60g Australian butter
  • seasoned flour, for coating
  • 750g beef mince
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 large onion, grated
  • cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 30g day old bread, soaked in water and excess water squeezed out
  • 1/2 cup Australian natural yogurt
  • 1 baby cucumber, grated and excess liquid squeezed out
  • 3 spring onions, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed

  1. Combine meatball ingredients together and shape into 24 balls. Lightly coat in flour. Melt butter in a frypan and saute meatballs, a few at a time, until browned and cooked through. Place on serving platter. Serve with Cucumber Yogurt Dip (see recipe below).
  2. CUCUMBER DIP: Mix ingredients together in a bowl and serve with meatballs.
