Marmalade Swirly Buns

  • 2 cups self raising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 20g Australian butter
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 1 cup grated Australian cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup orange marmalade

  1. Sift flour and salt together and rub in butter until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add sugar and half the cheese and mix well. Add sufficient water to make a soft dough. Turn onto a floured board and knead lightly. Roll out dough to a 20x35cm rectangle and spread with marmalade. Sprinkle top with remaining cheese. Starting with the longer edge, roll up dough. Cut into 12 slices and place cut side down into buttered patty pans. Bake at 230C for 10 minutes until golden brown.
