Hot Lips with Avocado Dipping Sauce

Serves 6


  • 4 large pontiac potatoes
  • 60 g Australian butter, melted
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon mild chilli sauce
  • paprika, for sprinkling
  • garlic salt, for sprinkling
  • dried thyme, for sprinkling
  • cayenne pepper, for sprinkling
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 2 tablespoons chives, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup Australian light sour cream

  1. Wash potatoes and cut into wedges. Brush with combined butter, garlic and chilli sauce. Sprinkle liberally with paprika, garlic salt, thyme, cayenne and pepper. Place on a baking tray and bake at 230C for 30 minutes, basting occasionally with butter mixture. Blend the remaining ingredients in a food processor until smooth and serve with hot lips.
  2. **This recipe is suitable for lacto-ovo vegetarians who have adopted a vegetarian diet for health reasons.

Tips / Handy Hints

Prepare potatoes as above. Cook half the potatoes at a time on High(100%) for 7 minutes. Proceed as above.
