Grilled Orange Vincotto Figs

  • 4 figs, quartered
  • 2 tablespoons orange vincotto
  • 250g wedge King Island Endeavour Blue

  1. 1. Place quartered figs on a foil lined baking tray. Drizzle generously with orange vincotto.
  2. 2. Place under a hot grill and grill for 5 minutes or until figs are golden brown and vincotto has turned syrupy.
  3. 3. Serve warm or cold figs with a wedge of King Island Endeavour Blue

Tips / Handy Hints

Handy Hints: Vincotto is produced through the gentle, long simmering of the must from the Negroamaro and Malvasia grapes growing in the Province of Lecce. Once it reaches a fifth of its original volume it is poured into oak barrels and left to rest for 4 years. Vincotto comes in many varieties including Vincotto with Raspberries, Figs or with Lemons. If unavailable vincotto can be substituted in this recipe with balsamic vinegar and a sprinkling of sugar.
