Golden Sultana Pudding

Serves 3-4


  • 2 tablespoons Australian butter
  • 1/4 cup caster sugar
  • 2 drops vanilla essence
  • 2 tablespoons sultanas
  • 3/4 cup self raising flour
  • 1/3 cup Australian milk
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup

  1. Cream butter and sugar together in a small bowl. Beat in vanilla, sultanas, flour and milk until smooth. Spoon golden syrup into the base of a small buttered steamer or pudding basin. Top with pudding mixture, cover and steam for 45 minutes. Turn onto a warm plate and serve with custard. N.B. - Any remaining pudding can be refrigerated overnight, wrapped in foil and reheated.
