Crumpet Sizzlers

Serves 6


  • 60g butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup grated Australian cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • freshly chopped oregano, to taste
  • 6 crumpets, toasted

  1. Melt butter in a frypan and saute onion until soft. Mix in cheese, sauces, egg and oregano. Spread thickly over toasted crumpets. Brown under a hot grill until cheese is melted and golden.
