Creamed Rice

Serves 4


  • 1/2 cup short grain rice
  • 2 cups Australian skim milk
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 300g fresh or frozen berries

  1. Over a very low heat simmer rice in milk until cooked and most of the milk absorbed. Stir frequently to avoid sticking. Bring juice and sugar to the boil. Add berries and heat through. Serve berries with a scoop of creamed rice.
