Cinnamon Biscuit Apple Flan

  • 185g pkt Marie biscuits, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup toasted desiccated coconut
  • 90g Australian butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 250g Australian cream cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup caster sugar
  • 90g Australian butter, extra
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 2 large Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • Australian cream, for serving

  1. Mix together biscuits, cinnamon, walnuts, coconut, butter and golden syrup in a bowl. Press into the base of a 20cm microwave ring dish. Chill. Combine cream cheese, eggs and caster sugar and spread over biscuit base. In a separate dish, melt extra butter on High ( 100%) for 1 minute, stir in golden syrup until blended. Arrange apples over the cream cheese, and pour golden syrup mixture evenly over the top. Microwave covered, on a rack, on High (100%) for 4 minutes. Serve cold with cream.
