Chocolate Butter (Ganache)

Serves 12 buns


  • 125g Australian Unsalted Butter, chopped
  • 100g dark cooking chocolate, chopped

  1. 1. Combine butter and chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and melt on HIGH for 1 minute, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  2. 2. Allow to cool to room temperature or refrigerate and stir occasionally until firm.
  3. 3. Spread over fresh or warm hot cross buns to serve.

  5. This chocolate butter also makes a decadent icing for chocolate cake.
  6. The butter will keep covered in the refrigerator for up to one month.
