Beef Stroganoff

Serves 4


  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 50g Australian butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 500g topside steak, cut across the grain into strips
  • 1 cup hot beef stock
  • 2 tablespoons red wine
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup Australian sour cream
  • buttered noodles, for serving

  1. Place onion, garlic and butter into a casserole dish. Cover and cook on High (100%) for 3 minutes. Season flour with black pepper, toss steak through the flour to coat. Add steak to the casserole dish with stock, wine, tomato paste, sugar and parsley. Cover and cook on High (100%) for 5 minutes. Allow to stand for 5-10 minutes. Stir in sour cream and serve over hot buttered noodles.
