Beef Lasagne with Spinach

Serves 6


  • 250g lean minced beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 x 750ml jar tomato based pasta sauce
  • 200g spinach, chopped
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 100g Australian butter
  • 1/3 cup plain flour
  • 2 cups Australian milk
  • 12 instant lasagne sheets, cooked
  • 250g shredded Australian mozzarella cheese

  1. 1. Lightly brown beef and onion in a non-stick frypan. Add tomato sauce, spinach and pepper and simmer.
  2. 2. Melt butter in a saucepan, add flour and cook stirring continuously for 1 minute. Add milk, stirring until sauce thickens.
  3. 3. Butter a baking dish and line with 3 lasagne sheets. Cover with 1/4 of the mozzarella cheese. Spread 1/3 meat sauce and 1/3 white sauce. Repeat layers of lasagne sheets, cheese, meat sauce and white sauce until all ingredients are used. Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes. Allow to stand for 15 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
