A Mini Meal

Serves 6


  • 300g minced pork
  • 30g Australin butter
  • 2 cups finely shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 turnip, diced
  • 6 spring onions, chopped
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts, sliced
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • Chinese five spice, to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 100g Australian butter, extra
  • 12 sheets filo pastry
  • 125g Australian cheddar cheese, grated

  1. Cook pork in a frypan until browned. Remove meat to a bowl. Melt butter in pan and cook cabbage and turnip for 3-4 minutes. Add spring onions, carrot and water chestnuts and cook for another 2 minutes. Mix vegetables and pork together, stir in soy sauce and season to taste with Chinese five spice and pepper. Melt extra butter. Brush 2 sheets of filo pastry with butter, sprinkle with some cheese and fold in half. Place 1/6 of the pork mixture on one corner of the pastry folding into a triangle. Repeat this method making 6 triangle pasties. Place onto a buttered oven tray and bake at 200C for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. Serves 6 for lunch.
